Program Introduction

Welcome to the first program released by Expansive Health.

I have noticed that there is a clear gap when it comes to affordable online programs for people requiring low level exercise. I am well aware of the financial strain that health concerns create. Many people can’t get out of the rut they are in as they need energy and strength in order to work, but don’t have the financial resources to get the assistance required to achieve those physical goals. 

I have therefore put together this program in an affordable model to make it more attainable.  

The goal of everything I do and will offer through Expansive Health, is to create a stepping stone to get you out of that rut and on the path to recovery. By no means are any of these services going to solve all your problems, but they will give you skills that allow you to gain a little more control over your health and start moving forward. 

This program is the first stepping stone for the physical body. It consists of exercises that target quite a lot of different areas. The vast majority of these exercises I have used in my own recovery, as well as prescribing them to many of my patients with incredible results. 

Below you will find answers to a few frequently asked questions about the 10 week program.

Is this suitable for me?

This program is aimed at anyone who struggles with exercise, anyone who feels that other programs that exist are too advanced and those who struggle with recovery post exercise.  Also appropriate for anyone who has undergone surgery, and is wanting something to start with before they begin more intense exercises.

If you are already exercising but feel you may have missed out on some basic strength and control you may also find this program beneficial.

Note: You must be cleared to exercise by your doctor. 

What does the program include?

Each week you will receive an email with a pre recorded video. 

It is recommended that you repeat each session at least 2-3x before moving onto the following week’s video. 

You will also have access to a Facebook group for people that have purchased the program. This will be a place that allows discussion and questions regarding the program. I will monitor this regularly and answer all questions where possible. 

The goal is to have a safe program that you can begin your exercise with, where you can go at your own pace with no external pressure, but still feel supported in your progression. 

Do I have to complete each program as they are sent, or can I go at my own pace?

No. The program consists of 10 pre recorded videos. They will be graded so each one will build on the skills and strength that you have developed from the previous ones. 

It is recommended that you repeat each sesion at least 2-3 times before you move to the next. As a lot of people in this community have significant issues with stamina and energy, you have complete freedom go slower than this. You will have the videos permanently, so if you want to work on week 1 for 4 weeks before you progress that is entirely up to you. Or if you have a set back in your health along the way you may find it beneficial to return to the beginning. 

What type of exercise is included?

There will be a wide range of exercises ranging from basic strength and control exercises, targeting deeper stabilising muscles as well as larger muscle groups. 

There will also be exercises and tips that will assist with your breathing and vagus nerve function. (See Vagus nerve information page)

This is a beginners level, graded exercise program that is built on a number of different philosophies that aim to make it as safe as possible for people with a wide range of conditions.

What if I have any questions or concerns?

Once you have purchased the program you will be able to join a Facebook group along with other members who have also purchased. I will monitor this group and answer all questions, this will also allow for feedback and discussion amongst the group members. 

If you have any detailed questions or require more specific guidance, I recommend you purchase a 1:1 session where we can go through your case more specifically. 

What if I don’t have any equipment?

You can purchase an equipment kit from the website that will include all the equipment you need for every exercise. These items will also be available individually. 

If you are unable to purchase or source these items yourself you will be able to use household items as alternatives, they may not be as effective, but they will still allow you to do all exercises.

How will this help me?

The goal of this program is to get you started with exercise, think of it as the very beginning of your exercise journey. This is certainly not going to allow you to run a marathon, or even return to the gym at full function at the end of the 10 weeks, but it aims to be that stepping stone between being significantly limited and being able to participate in a lot more options.
